So, it just might not have been Berube’s fault after all, eh?

Jim Montgomery signed a five-year deal to become #stlblues head coach. Drew Bannister had this season and next year remaining on his deal.

Still getting coffee in me. Wow, so surreal. I wish Bannister very well!
Very excited to see Jimbo in and what he will implement right away!

There you go Miami (as well as most of us)!

LGB!

I'm not totally surprised. You kind of thought that when Monty was let go that Bannister was on the clock. This is not a Stanley Cup team nor is it a bottom feeder. Is it completely fair to Bannister, no not with the injuries but you can still say they underperformed. Army is merciless, I'm glad they didn't let this fester as you know the coaching staff and the team had to be looking over their shoulder.

It seemed inevitable once Boston fired him for not being able to get a better roster than STL to perform but this is a Army guy they had succeeded before. No 2C is the reason Banny is gone I wonder if Monty takes a look at Kaskamaki or Dvorky sooner than
later

Wow!

I didn't think they'd pull the trigger. It's going to get interesting now.

A reminder that Montgomery's wife is from St. Louis.

I think it is the Sharks coach who looks like Monty too.

5 years is a long commitment. I guess they are very comfortable with him from before. But yea I don’t see him getting fired any time soon with that kind of term.
