In the early hours of today, law enforcement officials, led by Police Colonel Anek Srathongyu, raided a host bar in Pattaya operating beyond permitted hours.

The operation resulted in the detention of the establishment’s manager for further investigation. The raid, conducted at 2.36am, today, April 8, was a collaborative effort involving the Pattaya City Police, special operations police, and district officers, including Nattapop Yomjinda, Natthawat Sophonsawetasilp, and Tharit Chancharoen from Bang Lamung district.

The action was prompted by public complaints regarding a venue in South Pattaya’s Bongkot alley that reportedly exceeded operating hours and played music at high volumes. Upon investigation, officials found the venue still open, with only a few patrons present.

Police ordered an immediate cessation of activities, turning on the lights and silencing music, while they checked patrons’ identification and conducted drug tests. No illegal substances or activities were detected.

However, the establishment failed to present any documents to the investigating officers, leading to the manager’s arrest for further legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, Pattaya’s infamous nightlife scene faced a blow when police raided The Wild 69, a Central Pattaya entertainment venue, and found several foreign women working illegally.

Responding to a late-night tip-off from a concerned resident, a special task force from Pattaya City Police Station swooped down on the Bang Lamung venue around 1am on March 28. What they discovered led to immediate arrests.

Inside, officers encountered six foreign women, Laos and Cambodia nationals, employed as waitresses without the necessary work permits. None could provide valid documentation, prompting police to take legal action.

The venue’s 57 year old owner, identified only as Duanphen, was also taken into custody after failing to present any authorisation for hiring undocumented workers.

“A key tourist city like Pattaya will not tolerate any breaches of the law,” stated a Pattaya police spokesperson. “Anyone caught violating regulations will be dealt with promptly and firmly, regardless of their identity.”
