Spider-Man: Every Movie's Premiere Trailer in the Franchise (So Far), Ranked (2025)

Spider-Man is easily one of the most loved superheroes of all time. Whether it be his charming and easy-going personality, or the concept of being a friendly neighborhood hero, the Spider-Man franchise is continuing to grow in popularity. Now, the debate on which franchise was the best, between Sam Raimi’s trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man, and the MCU Spider-Man, is ongoing — and honestly, it will never be settled. Every Spider-Man actor has brought his own spark to the beloved character, and no matter how much we like to pick favorites, every time a new project is announced and a new trailer drops, count us in.

Indeed, movie trailers are some of the most useful tools for a film's promotion. For superhero movies, trailers are like a little gateway into something special. Putting out sneak peeks of highly anticipated movies increases the hype for their release. For a character like Spider-Man, fans flock to the internet to watch any newly released footage. There have been a lot of Spider-Man movies so far and therefore, many premiere trailers. Here is our ranking of the Spider-Man premiere movie trailers, from Tobey Maguire to Tom Holland and Miles Morales.

9 The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man: Every Movie's Premiere Trailer in the Franchise (So Far), Ranked (1)

Underrated movie and an underrated franchise. However, this is definitely not an underrated trailer. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man, and although it wasn't as good as the first movie, it really was not as bad as what people were saying. When it comes to the trailer, there is much to be desired. The trailer for this movie was kind of all over the place. However, it does get some points for a really cool action sequence at the end.

8 The Amazing Spider-Man

The Amazing Spider-Man (again, underrated), was a great debut film for Garfield as Spider-Man/Peter Parker. This trailer was not that bad, but just kind of monotone. There was a lack of build-up for Garfield's Peter Parker despite this film being the first look into what kind of Spider-Man we were in for. Instead, the trailer seems to hype up a villain and the awkward cuts to some text were a little much.

7 Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man: Every Movie's Premiere Trailer in the Franchise (So Far), Ranked (3)

Spider-Man: Far From Home is one of the first looks into a post-Endgame MCU. Out of the movies in Holland's Spider-Man trilogy, this one is the one that seems to lack a little bit. In modern cinema, Marvel knows how to make packed trailers that are nicely paced and designed specifically to hype up the movie. This trailer does do that with so many questions about the future of the MCU and the introduction of Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. However, when compared to the other trailers on this list, it is not the most memorable.

6 Spider-Man

Maguire's Spider-Man is a reliable fan favorite. Now, this movie came out in 2002 and this trailer shows it. The trailer for Raimi's debut Spider-Man film is jam-packed and full of energy. It is upbeat and fun with just the right amount of seriousness and suspense to make sure audiences know the stakes. If you haven't seen this trailer, and you are a fan of early-2000s cinema, you need to check it out ASAP.

5 Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Every Movie's Premiere Trailer in the Franchise (So Far), Ranked (5)

Spider-Man: Homecoming was the first Spider-Man movie for the MCU, and audiences were graced with Holland's take on the beloved character. This film gives us a deeper look into Holland's Peter Parker, and this trailer had MCU fans' excitement dialed to the max. The trailer had action, it was fun, it had bits of comedy and enough stakes that audiences could not wait to see what will happen. It was bright and full of life. The trailer brought out what the MCU had in store for Spider-Man in this franchise.

4 Spider-Man 3

The Spider-Man 3 trailer gives Spider-Man fans something that we have never seen before. The Venom crossover is something that is highly anticipated in the current MCU, but for now, we have to settle with 2007's Spider-Man 3. This trailer is set up perfectly. We are fed with an influx of optimism, excitement, and happiness until they introduce the main villain. We see the Venom symbiote as it attaches itself to Peter, making him the "villain" of this story. When a franchise hits its third installment, this is the kind of plot it needs and with a great trailer, this is one to watch.

3 Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man: Every Movie's Premiere Trailer in the Franchise (So Far), Ranked (7)

There is something just classic superhero cinema about the trailers of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. Spider-Man 2 came out in 2004, and the trailer is just as exciting as the premise of the movie. In a movie like Spider-Man 2, the prospect of two villains can be overwhelming. This trailer balances the villains as well as the upbeat action sequences to a tee. We see Peter having to face the consequences of his actions from the last movie as well as facing new foes as a now-established superhero.

2 Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Every Movie's Premiere Trailer in the Franchise (So Far), Ranked (8)

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was a cultural tidal wave. Nobody knew what to expect when this movie was announced. However, the trailer really put things into perspective. It would be a fair thing to say that Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man movie to date. The comic-book style, the refreshing portrayal of Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man, and the integration of the Multiverse make this trailer something special. The fantastic soundtrack as well as the visuals stand out on this list in a way that cannot be replicated in another film.

1 Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: Every Movie's Premiere Trailer in the Franchise (So Far), Ranked (9)

There might not be more anticipation for a movie that can quite reach the level that Spider-Man: No Way Home hit. The speculation surrounding the plot and the introduction of both Maguire and Garfield as Multiverse versions of Peter Parker/Spider-Man had fans analyzing each and every trailer for a crumb of what could come. Marvel is notorious for taking certain characters and key things out of their trailers (via Digital Spy). They definitely did that here. This trailer had some of the most loved Spider-Man villains throughout both Raimi's trilogy as well as Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man, played by their original actors. If a trailer is made to hype up a movie, nothing did it quite like this film's trailer.
